New Light

Has been a while since I’ve had time to browse my favourite shops online so not surprised to discover the fabuloso Radiance appears to have lots of lovely new housey and lifestyle stuff, including these simple but brilliant wired flowers by Dutch designer Jurianne Matter; a foxy tea towel by Lush Designs, cards by Sanna Annukka, and a (relatively?) new dandelion lamp design by Radiance owner Hannah Nunn.

I’m going to attempt a weekly blog post, picking my 3 current favourite design wants: That which I can afford (Sale!) , that I can kid myself I can afford (Stretch!), and that which I can just daydream about (So far off!).  So here goes:

Full of (Independent) Christmas Spirit

latenightshopping

why hebden bridge, you might wonder? well, its a characterful little town, bursting with independent shops and spirits, and a proper creative hub. If you want to buy something different, direct from the maker, ethically sourced, made with love, sold with a smile etc etc… or if you’d rather sit in a lovely warm cafe/pub/restaurant while someone else does the late night shopping, then this is the place…in West Yorkshire.

Hannah Nunn has kindly tweeted notice of Emerald Faerie’s new website. Awesome work. Just need that castle now…

Three craft fair posts in one day…

webmisievent

gonna see if I can find more… the thing is, if there’s going to be a Christmas postal strike you can beat it by buying great and original gifts direct, in person, and, most importantly, never even having to consider a late, desperate self-harm session at Argos :-)

I’m dreaming of a designer-maker Christmas

index page092

While we’re on the frankly heartbreaking subject of Christmas, and the infinitely less distressing one of fairs, Leeds Vintage Fashion Fairs are in the process of organising a Christmas Designer-Maker fair in West Yorkshire. Anyone interested in participating can contact Sam or Sally through the website. You heard it here first people!

Radiance Lighting: Illooooooominating the Web

blue_hare_lampshade

The one-woman creative whirlwind (‘creative whirlwind’, sally??! isn’t that a mixed metaphor??) that is Hannah Nunn has launched her Radiance Lighting shop online.  Its got loads of great stuff (and not just lighting) from great designers, including Tord Boontje, Jurianne Matter and Lush Designs.
